My Approach
Personal Philosophy Statement
I believe in inspiring knowledge and understanding through iterative active learning and research and practice-based learning. Understanding and learning go hand in hand. I believe in clear leadership and trying to inspire learners to become the best that they can be. I encourage learners to reach further and deeper into core content knowledge. I encourage all learners to become active reflective practitioners. If a learner has a particular interest they wish to explore or an area they are very competent in, I will encourage them to go further and seek more answers and facilitate them in their inquiry beyond the constructs of their knowledge towards greater meta cognition, through mentoring and collaboration between teacher and learner, and exploration of new learning through projects to facilitate contextualization. See current research standpoint and critical reflection on the use of Learning and Teaching E-portfolios in Higher Education in Ireland for further information. Refer to assessment page for further information relating to pedagogical approach, reflective practice and action research by way of a case study.
